Why

Why attend the RTC Track?

Post-pandemic, our online habits have changed and WebRTC (Real-Time Communication) is now central to how we experience the web.

WebRTC is being adopted by many as the most secure, flexible and low latency solution for peer-to-peer audio and video communication.

If you’ve been working in the field for a while, you’ll know about all the benefits of WebRTC, so let us get you up to speed with the newest developments!

If you’re just getting started with Real-Time Media, prepare to discover a whole new world to take your AV to the next level.

Topics

  • Anycast network methodology / sharing single-destination IP across devices
  • WHIP and WHEP for standardised signalling
  • Digital Rights Management
  • Scalability of WebRTC projects
  • PaaS companies joining the WebRTC crowd
  • Updates from Open Source VoIP and WebRTC projects
  • Much more!

When we talk about Real-Time Communication, we mean very low latency, with no delays. Live video calls and chats, highly responsive online learning environments and gaming with no lag, for example. For the wider real-time landscape, Open Media projects and standards allow for the smooth delivery of things like video streaming. See our Open Media page for more information on what’s in store on the Open Media track.

CommCon is about communications and the technologies we see as ‘communications’ have changed substantially over the past three years during the pandemic. Everyone now thinks differently about how they communicate and interact with users - sometimes it’s real-time and others it's not. There’s certainly a lot of overlap, and we’re making space for both.

Who is it for?

We’re glad you asked. If you’re a developer or CTO working in telecoms & VoIP, broadcast and the AV industry, Video on Demand or Over The Top spaces, this event is for you!
